Please join us for the professional development opportunity, “When Helping Hurts… Secondary Traumatic Stress and Student Affairs."
If supporting a student through trauma has left you with lasting negative feelings, thoughts, or behaviors, you may be suffering from Secondary Traumatic Stress.
Please join Buffalo State Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration graduate student and Erie County Department of Social Services Senior Caseworker, Shandra Hake, to learn tools to recognize and address Secondary Traumatic Stress and see how it relates to work in Student Affairs. Hake will share the definition and symptoms; discuss ways to protect yourself from and address Secondary Traumatic Stress; and discuss how it is relevant into Student Affairs.
Please register through the Workshop Registration System.
